Desiccant Dehydration

Desiccant Dehydration

Process

Desiccant dehydration systems are used to remove residual water vapor from natural gas streams.

Desiccant Dehydration Schematic Diagram

Problem

Solid particulates in the natural gas streams causes problems such as:

  • Plugging of absorption process in the desiccant dehydration systems
  • Bed degradation
  • Release of fine desiccant traces
  • Loss/lowered dehydration capacity

Solutions

Upstream of the desiccant dehydration system, absolute-rated, rigid cartridges can provide particulate protection to contamination sensitive absorption and regeneration towers. Downstream of the desiccant dehydration system, filtration effectively removes destructive desiccant fines, protecting compressors and other equipment.

Products Suitable For Desiccant Dehydration

Desiccant Dehydration Application Guide

Feature-Tec Filter Product Applied to Description
Coalescer
FT-C1.0-1.0-36-2
(0.3-1μm)
Amine Sweetening
  • Coalescers can be installed, recovering amine carried by gas stream.
  • Reduces loss of amine and cuts maintenance costs.

FSH
FSH-40-1-V-5 (5μm)
Desiccant Dehydration Inlet
  • Gas flowing into desiccant dehydration processes have high impurity content including large amounts of soft deformable particles.
  • Surface filtration systems such as automatic backwash filters, metal filters and membrane filtration are not suitable.
  • High dirty-holding, disposable depth filter element (filter cartridge) is the most appropriate solution.
Dry Gas Filter(0.3μm) Desiccant Dehydration Outlet
  • Dry gas filters are used to remove dust and solids from gas streams.
  • Consists of multiple filter cartridges.
  • Can be installed at the Desiccant Dehydration Outlet
