PE Manufacturing
Ethylene is combined with a small amount of co-monomer (butene) & solvent in a reactor with catalyst。 Solvent cyclohexane (or isobutane), is removed from the reactor and sent to solvent recovery. The solvent is used to prevent the viscosity of the reaction mass from getting too high. PE polymer goes to the extruder, then the pelletizer.
Contaminations
Solid & semi-solids contaminant can be introduced into process or created during manufacturing:
Recommendation
A: FCN 10um
B: FCN 40um
C: PT 10um
D: Jumbo 5-10um
Benefit
Lower filter disposal costs
Reduced maintenance expense on distillation column downstream of filters
Reduced exposure to catalyst
Improved HDPE product quality, because of improved hexane quality
